150 new jobs are to be created by Irish fitness business management software company Glofox.

The new roles are to be filled by the firm this year and will bring the total number of people employed by the business to 350.

40% of the new positions will be in research and development, with the balance in customer success and growth.

The new staff will be used to propel the company's global expansion.

"The hiring of 150 new roles as part of our continued expansion, is an exciting step as we continue to capture new global markets," said Conor O’Loughlin, Glofox chief executive.

"Glofox employees will have significant opportunities to enhance their careers across a fast-growing and dynamic sector."

"Each member of the team will play a key role in further driving our commercial expansion or in the development of new industry leading solutions."

Founded in 2017, Glofox develops software for fitness studio operators and staff as well as franchisors.

It currently has customers in 80 countries, with support provided in 17 languages.

The business is currently planning to invest more in its presence in the Middle East and is also looking at growing in Latin America.

Last year Glofox recruited 100 new staff which represented a doubling of its headcount.

The company recently partnered with Xponential Fitness, the New York Stock exchange listed curator of leading boutique fitness brands, to help it manage its network of franchise partners as it expands into new markets beyond the United States.
