Online learning management system developer, LearnUpon, is to create 130 new jobs this year, half of which will be in Ireland.

The roles will be across a range of specialities, including sales, support, customer success, engineering, marketing, operations and finance.

The company already employs 260 people across offices in Ireland, US, Serbia and Australia.

Around half of those are based in its Smithfield headquarters or work remotely from other locations around this country.

LearnUpon was founded in 2012 by Brendan Noud and Des Anderson, and designs e-learning systems used by businesses to deliver training to employees, customers and partners.

The company was part of the Launchpad accelerator at the National Digital Research Centre and raised seed capital in 2013 and 2016.

The company then raised Series A funding of $56m in 2020 from Summit Partners which is now being used to propel its rapid growth.

Brendan Noud said it does not currently have any plans to raise additional funding.

Its products are used by global names such as Zendesk, Booking.com and USA Football, as well as local businesses such as Brown Thomas Arnotts and LetsGetChecked.

Revenues at the business are growing by 50% a year and last year, despite the pandemic, the company recruited an additional 100 staff.

Around 70% of its business is now being done into the United States.
