Anord Mardix, the Co Louth based provider of power solutions for the data centre sector, has been bought by US based manufacturer Flex for $540m in cash.

The private equity firm, Bertam Capital, had previously owned Anord Matrix, having bought it in 2018 for $48.6m.

Anord Mardix was formed the same year by the amalgamation of Anord Control Systems, which was based in Dundalk and a UK firm, Mardix.

Flex said the acquisition added to its portfolio of power products and expands its offering in the data centre market.

It is expected to close between now and the end of this year.

Anord Mardix has a range of power solutions including switchgear, busway, power distribution and modular power systems, along with monitoring solutions and services.

The company is on track to generate approximately $360 million in revenue this year and expects that growth to continue into the future.

"By joining Flex, we will be able to build out Anord Mardix's comprehensive range of end-to-end power systems for critical data facilities, leveraging Flex's expertise and efficiencies in advanced manufacturing and global supply chain," said James Peacock, who will be Managing Director, of Anord Mardix.
