The former billionaire Sean Quinn has given an undertaking in Belfast's Royal Courts of Justice not to go on land he once owned.

Mannok Aggregates Ltd, formerly known as Quinn Industrial Holdings, sought an injunction to prevent alleged trespassing at Doon Quarry in Co Fermanagh.

A full hearing in the injunction application is listed for 27 January.

In court this morning, a lawyer for Mr Quinn confirmed his client's consent to "a short undertaking", which may be extended to the start of February.

During today's proceedings, Madam Justice McBride cautioned against doing anything that could heighten tension.

She said: "There seems to be a lot of animosity between the parties, I don't want anything to happen on the site that inflames the situation."
