Dublin's cloud-based telecommunications provider Blueface has been bought by US giant Comcast, which owns Sky and NBC, for an undisclosed sum.

In a statement, the companies said that Blueface will continue to operate as it does today.

They added that Blueface will become an integral business unit within Comcast Business and will service Comcast's global customer base.

The two companies also expressed "a strong commitment" to job creation in Dublin and said they will be recruiting people for software development, engineering, programme management and sales positions.

Today's deal will add Blueface's proprietary and fully customisable cloud voice unified communications platform to Comcast Business's portfolio of business-grade solutions.

This will help to provide businesses the ability to communicate and collaborate seamlessly and globally.

Alan Foy, CEO of Blueface, said the company was thrilled to join Comcast and work with the Comcast Business team to invest in and scale its technology roadmap to create compelling B2B product offerings.

"Together, we will enable businesses to connect better with an unmatched network and suite of communication tools that enable improved employee productivity," Mr Foy added.
