SIRO reveals €20m broadband investment for Galway city

SIRO is to invest €20 million to expand its fibre broadband network to around 30,000 premises in and around Galway city.

The network will be built from interconnection points in Galway, Oranmore and Moneenageisha to 30 clusters.

Fibre-to-the-Building technology will be used to bring high speed broadband speeds of up to 1Gbps into premises in the area.

It will represent the largest investment by the ESB-Vodafone wholesale joint venture this year.

The first Galway homes were connected to the network in Oranmore last week.

TLI Group is the delivery partner on the Galway project.

SIRO already offers a service to retail operators in 45 towns across Ireland.
