International life sciences company Eurofins is to create 150 jobs as it sets up a new global software engineering centre in Dublin.

In Ireland since 2003, Eurofins already has labs in Dublin, Waterford and Cork.

The company carries out clinical diagnostics, biopharma, agro-science and food and beverage testing.

Building on its Irish team of 775 analytical testing and administrative professionals, Eurofins said it will add software development capability and technology expertise to the business from its new offices in Sandyford, Dublin.

Recruitment has already begun for these roles.

With over 45,000 staff globally, and a network of more than 650 laboratories across 45 countries in Europe, North and South America and Asia-Pacific, Eurofins performs over 400 million tests every year.

Claudius Masuch, Director IT Solutions Engineering at Eurofins, said the establishment of the new centre in Dublin is part of the group's continued investment in state-of-the-art technology for its labs and IT systems.

"Ireland is well-renowned for its highly-skilled technology workforce. We've seen first-hand the quality of talent in our life science departments and we want to replicate that in our new IT facility," he added.
