US-based cyber-security firm SkOUT Secure Intelligence is to create 30 jobs as it opens a new European headquarters in Portlaoise in Co Laois.
SkOUT was founded by Irish entrepreneur Aidan Kehoe in 2013, and recruitment for the new roles will begin immediately.
The new roles in Portlaoise will be divided between management, sales and business development, engineering and technical support.
JP Kehoe, Senior Director of EMEA at SkOUT Secure Intelligence, said the company has ambitious expansion and hiring plans for its business in the EMEA region.
"As our operations run 24/7, we view Ireland as a critical digital hub that allows us to service our clients across the EMEA region," Mr Kehoe said.
"We believe that there are a lot of talented people who are looking to have a great career in cyber security and we are looking to meet people who share our ambition," he added.
Mary Buckley, executive director of IDA Ireland said that the country's reputation at the forefront of cyber security is further strengthened by SkOUT's decision to establish its EMEA HQ in Portlaoise.
"Access to highly skilled technical talent, the cluster effect of related businesses and the ease of doing business, were all contributing factors when deciding to locate their cyber business here," she added.
