A Galway-based technology company has been sold to a US firm that specialises in retail technology software.
Altocloud has been bought by San Francisco-based Genesys, in a deal understood to be worth several million euro.
The Galway operation - founded by Dragon's Den investor Barry O'Sullivan - employs 26 people.
A spokesperson for the company said there would be no impact on staff numbers or the company's presence in Galway as a result of the sale.
Mr O'Sullivan will continue to be involved in the company, working in a consultancy role.
Genesys said the deal strengthens its capability in artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning.
