Ryanair's passenger numbers increased by 6% to 9.3m in November, when compared with the same month in 2016.

Annual traffic in the month was up by 11% to 128.7m, and the airline's load factor for the month was 1% higher than November last year, at 96%.

The rise comes despite a raft of flight cancellations affecting passengers across the winter schedule, with Ryanair cancelling 18,000 flights between October and December of this year to address a lack of available pilots due to rostering issues.

Ryanair's Chief Marketing Officer Kenny Jacobs said the growth was mainly off the back of lower fares.
