Ride hailing app Hailo has reached an agreement for a taxi ordering function within Google Maps in Ireland.
The new facility, which went live today on Android and iOS, allows users see the estimated availability, price, and travel time to the destination they have requested directions for in Google Maps.
A Hailo can now be ordered through the Ride Services tab, which is positioned alongside the existing ‘walking’, ‘car’, ‘bike’ and ‘transit’ options in the Google Maps user interface.
The Google Maps Hailo ordering function has been available to customers in the UK and Spain since March.
Hailo currently has around 45,000 daily passengers in Ireland.
General Manager of Hailo in Ireland Tim Arnold said the addition of Hailo to Google Maps here “recognises the key role licensed taxis play as part of Ireland’s transport infrastructure”.
