Telecoms group Eir, formerly Eircom, has said its earnings - before accounting for interest on its debt, depreciation of its assets and tax - rose by 6% to €120m for the three months to the end of September.
Eir said its revenue was up 4% to €325m during the quarter, its second quarterly growth in a row.
The company has signed up 25,000 new mobile customers over the past year, and said today that EBITDA in the segment for the quarter grew to €15m from €8m the same time last year.
Mobile revenue rose by 5% to €91m.
Eir also said it had gained 66,000 new broadband users in the past year and it noted that 41% of its broadband connections are high speed broadband. Its total broadband customer based stood at 798,000 by the end of September.
On its television business, Eir said that its Vision base stood at 43,000 customers by the end of September.
"This solid financial performance, together with our recent brand launch, provides real momentum as we continue our transformation in an increasingly competitive market," commented the company's chief executive Richard Moat.
He added that the company's growth has been underpinned by continued strong performance in mobile and an improving number of post-pay customers.
