Laya Healthcare has said it will be creating 50 jobs between now and 2016 at its new headquarters in Dublin.

The health insurance company currently employs more than 440 people in Dublin and Cork.

The new jobs will be in sales, customer service and claims at its Hume Street offices.

Laya Managing Director Dónal Clancy said: "Since we first launched Laya Healthcare in May 2012, we have consistently recorded growth in the Dublin market.

"Overall, our membership in this region has grown by more than 16% since launch to date.

"Last year, we recorded our strongest performance yet, with corporate sales growing by over 70%."

He added: "The outlook for 2014 is equally positive."
