Wireless broadband company Ripplecom has bought the broadband network previously run by Ice Communications.
Ripplecom, which is based in Raheen, Co Limerick, said the deal included Ice's entire wireless network infrastructure and customer base. The financial terms were not disclosed.
Ripplecom's head of sales and marketing John Regan said the company was aiming to expand its customer base over the next few months, and planned to double its workforce from the current 14 by the end of the year.
The company began trading in late 2009 following the merger of two Irish wireless Internet companies, Amocom and Callidus/Omnitel.
