Mobile phone calls are cheapest in the Netherlands and most expensive in the US among the major developed economies, a new report by the Paris-based OECD showed today.
The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) based its ranking on a survey of monthly prices for medium use of mobile phones for calls, text messaging and multimedia messaging in its 30 member states.
The report also found that mobile phone call prices between 2006 and 2008 fell on average by 28% for medium use consumers but said that text messaging continued to be a particularly lucrative market for operators.
