Online payments company, PayPal, is to set up a new European centre of excellence in Dublin, which will create 35 new jobs.
The company, which is owned by online auction company eBay, already employs 900 people at its centre in Ballycoolin in west Dublin. The €15m investment has been supported by IDA Ireland.
PayPal president Scott Thompson said the 35 new positions were highly-skilled jobs.
He said the company's investment in Dublin over the last six years had worked out 'extraordinarily well' and investing more money seemed the natural thing to do. Mr Thompson said PayPal's business was growing despite the global downturn.
Speaking at the announcement, the chief executive of the IDA, Barry O'Leary, said the negative publicity about Ireland's financial position was not affecting foreign direct investment.
