A Limerick company which provides technology for the waste and recycling industry says it plans to expand after raising €5.25m in funds.
AMCS currently employs 50 engineers and technology staff. CEO Jimmy Martin said the new funding would help it to double its workforce by next year.
The new investment is being provided by UK-based clean technology fund WHEB Ventures and the Ulster Bank Diageo Venture Fund, which is managed by NCB Ventures.
Mr Martin said the money would enable it to enter new overseas markets and develop its product range. Last year, 28% of its sales came from exports and it hopes to increase this figure to 68% this year. AMCS is mainly involved in technology for weighing and identifying waste.
