Acquisitions boost Zamano's revenues

Mobile services group Zamano, which is listed in Dublin, has reported pre-tax profits of €673,000 for the six months to the end of June, down from €1.393m the same time last year due to the cost of acquisitions and the negative effect of sterling.

Revenues, however, jumped 145% from €9.671m to €23.723m on the back of the full integration of those two acquisitions last year - Eirborne Text Promotions and Red Circle Technologies.

Adjusted earnings per share rose by 21% to 2.3 cent on a constant currency basis, the company said.

The company said it was pleased with the profitable growth achieved during the six month period, given the challenging regulatory and economic environment along with the negative currency movement.

Chairman Rod Matthews said this challenging environment in Ireland and the UK is affecting growth rates, especially from print advertising. But he said the company is taking steps to ensure that these effects are minimised.
