IBM plans €30m Dublin data centre

Technology company IBM is to invest €30m in a new data centre at its facility in Mulhuddart in Dublin. IDA Ireland is backing the investment.

The company says the new centre will provide a wide range of new IT services for the Irish marketplace and will also act as a global hub for delivering IBM software to customers in 84 countries.

IBM says the centre has been designed using green strategies and technology innovations to make it more energy efficient.

The company says the centre will help it to cope with strong demand from businesses and governments seeking to keep their data safe from disruption.
