Datalex first-half loss little changed

Travel software group Datalex has reported pre-tax losses of $800,000 for the first half of the year, broadly in line with the same period last year.

Total revenue rose slightly to $16.2m, helped by a 35% increase in transaction revenue from its Travel Distribution Platform products.

Datalex CEO Cormac Whelan said fuel prices and economic uncertainty had badly affected the travel industry, but its products aimed to help companies to reduce their distribution costs.

The company said the weak US dollar had also affected its costs, which were mainly in other currencies.
