UPC Ireland, which includes cable companies NTL and Chorus in Ireland, has reported revenues of $184m for the six months to June, up from $148.4m the same time last year.
The company said its operating profits rose to $69.6m from $46.7m as its total subscriber numbers rose to 670,400 in the six month period.
Breaking down the numbers, UPC Ireland said its broadband numbers increased year on year by over 33% and it ended the six month period with 89,300 broadband subscribers.
The company launched its phone service in April 2007 and after 14 months it said it now has 18,500 home phone subscribers.
Subscribers to its digital television service grew by almost 3% to reach over 314,000 subscribers year on year, although it noted that its tv numbers were down for the second quarter due to fewer new homes being built.
'We delivered a solid set of results in the second quarter of 2008, highlighting the strength of our operation in Ireland' commented Robert Dunn, CEO of UPC Ireland.
'In addition, we continue to invest in upgrading our networks across Ireland in order to deliver superior products and services to extend our competitive advantage and remain focused on constantly improving our overall customer's experience,' he added.
The group's US parent, Liberty Global, said its revenues grew by 25% to $5.34 billion for the six months to June 30, up from $4.29 billion the same time last year. The company said its net earnings came to $273m compared to a loss of $266m in the first quarter of 2007.
