Mobile phone operator O2 Ireland has officially launched its broadband service.
It says O2 Broadband, through a wireless USB modem, will enable up to 10GB of data to be downloaded as standard per month, with no additional charges for occasional usage above this.
O2 is offering a three-month introductory price of €15 per month for those with an existing or new O2 mobile contract customers. The charge for other customers will be €20. The prices rise to €30 and €40 respectively after the three-month period. The modem costs €69.
O2 claims its service will provide broadband at speeds of up to 3.6Mbps, which it says is faster than most fixed-line broadband services.
