Belfast software firm may add 175 jobs

A £6.6m investment by a major employer in Belfast could create up to 175 jobs at the software firm over the next three years.

The expansion at Liberty Information Technology (LIT), which is owned by US insurance company Liberty Mutual Group, is backed by agency Invest NI.

The company currently has around 190 employees in Belfast.

LIT provides software application development and maintenance services to the parent company.

Economy Minister, Nigel Dodds said: 'Today's announcement will significantly benefit the economy by generating an expected additional £6.7 million a year in salaries by 2010'.
