Independent News & Media is examining the possibility of bidding for the Racing Post, the daily racing title put up for sale by Trinity Mirror, according to a report in the Financial Times.
The deadline for final and binding offers for the title is next week, and although IN&M is not formally in the process, Gavin O'Reilly, its chief operating officer, told the FT that the newspaper group could still make an offer for the publication.
Private equity groups Exponent and Veronis Suhler Stevenson are understood to be considering a joint bid for the Racing Post.
