Software company DeCare Systems is to create 100 jobs over five years in Cork with the expansion of its business at the University Technology Centre. IDA Ireland is backing the project.

The company is a subsidiary of US dental insurance firm DeCare International, which set up the Irish division on 1998 to provide software and internet technology for the parent company.

DeCare Systems has also developed new business by supplying technology to other customers in the US and Europe.

DeCare International also has a second Irish subsidiary which employs 95 people in Claremorris, Co Mayo.
