Datalex expects new model to deliver

Travel technology group Datalex has reported a drop in sales and profits for last year, but said it was more optimistic for the current year.

The company said revenues were down 6% to $26.6m, while pre-tax profits fell to $1.1m from $1.9m in 2005.

CEO Cormac Whelan said 2007 should see double-digit percentage revenue growth as the company had shifted its business model in 2006, launching a new travel distribution platform (TDP) range of products.

Datalex has traditionally been involved in online distribution but is now moving into areas such as call centres.

Shares in the company closed up four cent at 74 cent in Dublin this evening.
