UPC Ireland, the new parent company of NTL Ireland and Chorus, has reported that the combined company added 18,800 TV customers last year, and as at December 2006 had 595,200 customers.
UPC Ireland, which also provides broadband internet and telephony services, said broadband customers jumped 121%, or by over 30,000 customers, to 55,300 as at 31st December 2006.
Telephone customers were 400 in December 2006, but the company said that the amount of households that are now able to receive its services increased to 91,800 from 24,200 last year.
Robert Dunn, CEO of UPC Ireland, said the company added an average of over 500 broadband customers per week last year.
'In addition, we managed to grow our TV customer numbers by 3% during the year despite operating in a very competitive TV marketplace', he added.
UPC is a division of Liberty Global, which overall reported revenue up 11% to $6.4 billion and net profit of $706m compared to a net loss of $80m in 2005.
