Belfast-based company Andor Technology - which makes digital imaging and spectroscopy devices for scientific research - has reported pre-tax profits of £1.688m sterling for the year to the end of September, up from £833,000 the previous year.
Sales were up 22% to a record £19.2m from £15.7m as the company said it was satisfied with trading since the start of the new financial year with over £4m worth of new orders in the pipeline. Diluted earnings per share jumped by 79% to 6.30 pence.
Operating profits for the year rose by 85% to £1.45m. The profits were impacted by exceptional earnings, mainly from the successful disposal of Avalon Instruments to Perkin Elmer Corporation.
Andor said it had achieved sales growth in each of its core markets during the year and continues to identify and exploit new opportunities.
