Eircom today confirmed the appointment of Rex Comb as its new chief executive.
Comb is 43 and originally from Australia. He was previously CEO of Babcock & Brown Capital Management for the past 18 months. He succeeds Philip Nolan who held the position from 2002.
'I am excited at the opportunity to lead Eircom, ' commented Mr Comb.
'Telecoms is an extraordinarily dynamic industry and while Eircom has done a good job in a challenging environment, it is my responsibility to lead Eircom through the next phase of growth', he added.
Babcock & Brown bought Eircom for almost €2.4 billion earlier this year.
