UPC Ireland, the parent company of cable operators NTL Ireland and Chorus, is to launch the first phase of its 'triple play' product - which includes digital television, broadband and telephone services - in July.
The service will be available first to residents in Adamstown in Lucan, Co Dublin. The telephone service will be delivered over the cable infrastructure without the need for a phone line. Prices for the telephone service will be announced early next month.
UPC currently has one million telephone customers elsewhere in Europe.
