US company NETGEAR is to create up to 100 new jobs in Cork following its decision to set up its international headquarters in the city. The investment is supported by IDA Ireland.
The firm designs, develops and markets networking products for small business and home users worldwide. Set up ten years ago in California, its designs are manufactured in China and Taiwan and then sold through traditional retailers and online.
Company chairman Patrick Lo says that Cork an ideal location because of its infrastructure, multi-lingual capability, highly skilled workforce and 'ease of doing' business.
He said the Cork based will allow the company to offer a better service its its international customers.
Recruitment for positions in finance, technical and IT support, HR , operations and product marketing has already begun.
