Indian software firm to add Belfast jobs

Indian software development company Polaris Software Lab is to open an office in Northern Ireland. The company plans to locate its operations at Science Park in Belfast. The company plans to create up to 158 software development jobs over the next three years.

The announcement came on the final day of a five-day trade mission to india attended by Secretary of State for Northern Ireland Peter Hain and senior Invest Northern Ireland executives.

Targeting the banking and financial services sector, the centre will be backed by financial assistance of €2.2m from Invest Northern Ireland.

Welcoming the investment Trevor Killen, Director of Invest Northern Ireland in Dublin said: 'Polaris' decision to locate in Belfast is a very significant endorsement of the strength of the financial services sector in Northern Ireland and sends out a strong signal to other international companies seeking a location from which to access the European market'.
