Denis O'Brien's Digicel today began offering its mobile phone services in Trinidad & Tobago.
The company, which offers mobile telecommunications company in the Caribbean since its launch in 2001, opened over 200 retail stores in Trinidad & Tobago.
Digicel T&T is led by Stephen Brewer, former CEO of Vodafone Ireland.
In the past week, Digicel launched services in Antigua & Barbuda and secured an operating license in Turks & Caicos. The company has moved quickly in the first quarter of 2006 as it continues its expansion across the region including the imminent launch of service in Haiti.
Digicel currently has operations in 16 Caribbean countries, covering a total population of 14 million people. Incorporated in Bermuda, Digicel operates in Anguilla, Antigua & Barbuda, Aruba, Barbados, Bermuda, Curaçao, The Cayman Islands, Dominica, Grenada, Jamaica, St Kitts & Nevis, St Lucia, St Vincent and the Grenadines and Trinidad & Tobago.
