Investors put €14m into Channel 6

New Irish television station Channel 6 has said it has funding of €14m in place ahead of its launch later this year.

Investors in the channel - which will be targeting the 15-35 age group - include ACT Venture Capital, Delta Partners, Claret Capital, the Barry family and the Gowan Group. Former Aegis Media chief executive Pat Donnelly is also an investor and will become the company's executive chairman.

The new channel will be ased in Dublin, and it says recruitment is already underway. Channel 6 expects shortly to announce a spring launch date.
