Smart Telecom has launched a new product which it says will allow customers to make national and international calls over the internet for the price of a local call.
The Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) service will be called Smart 076, as this is the prefix for all new VoIP numbers in Ireland.
Smart says the service can be used by almost anyone with a PC and high-speed broadband connection. It is offering new customers €1 of free credit, which it says is the equivalent of 50 minutes to the UK or US. Calls to other Smart 076 subscribers are free.
