ICT Ireland, the association which represents the high tech sector within IBEC, has launched a programme to promote careers in ICT to students. This is in response to growing concerns in the industry for the need to maintain the flow of graduates into the sector.
The launch of the ICT Champions programme took place in Hewlett Packard today. The company is one of 50 firms nationwide participating in the new initiative.
ICT Champions' primary goal is to encourage secondary school students to take science and technology subjects at Leaving Certificate level, and to consider engineering and ICT courses at university.
