There are now a total of 146,000 single bill lines, or almost 40% of all indirect access paths.

Mobile penetration rates now stand at 94% of the population. ComReg says that each mobile phone subscriber sends 91 text messages a month on average. Over the past 12 months, a total of four billion text messages were sent by Irish mobile users.

The quarterly report also shows that almost six out of ten people with a pay TV service subscribe to digital TV services. Of all households in the country with a television, 40% have a digital television service.
