Dublin radio station NewsTalk 106 has named Elaine Geraghty as its new chief executive, replacing Dan Healy. A statement today said Mr Healy had tendered his resignation on June 16.
The change will take effect from September 15. NewsTalk will seek the approval of this appointment from the Broadcasting Commission of Ireland at its next board meeting.
Ms Geraghty is currently the group product manager for Denis O'Brien's radio group Communicorp and is responsible for programming across the group's 30 stations.
Mr Healy joined NewsTalk in October 2003 from 98FM. The most recent JNLR figures showed it had a 6% share of the Dublin market in the second six months of 2004.
