City Channel, the company behind Dublin's planned new local television station, has announced plans to launch additional local services in Galway and Waterford.
City Channel Galway and City Channel Waterford will be on air in early 2006 providing services to an initial 26,000 homes in Galway and 18,000 homes in Waterford. The company says it is having talks on carriage agreements with NTL and intends to apply to the Broadcasting Commission of Ireland for content provision licences.
City Channel is backed by broadcaster and businessman David Harvey and a number of private investors.
