A television channel aimed at the Dublin audience is to start broadcasting in September after signing a contract with the Broadcasting Commission of Ireland (BCI) today.
Fronted by David Harvey, the City Channel will broadcast 24 hours, seven days a week. The channel says it will be a niche service providing dedicated information and entertainment of interest to the Dublin area.
The service will be carried on the NTL digital platform in Dublin and will form part of NTL's digital standard television subscription package. It will broadcasting to 100,000 homes initially.
