Employment in companies involved in the construction industry increased by 4% in April of this year compared to the same month last year.
The latest figures from the Central Statistics Office show that the monthly employment index increased from 102 in April 2004 to 106.1 this April.
The annual increase in employment stood at 4.3% in March.
