Employment in companies in the construction industry increased by 4.3% in January 2005, compared with the same time last year.
According to the latest figures from the Central Statistics Office, the monthly employment index increased from 102.8 in January 2004 to 107.2 in January 2005.
The annual increase in employment was 5,7% for December 2004, the CSO added.
