Strong Irish presence at 3GSM Congress

19 of the country's fastest growing mobile communications companies will exhibit their products at the world's largest show for the wireless telecoms industry, 3GSM World Congress and Exhibition, in Cannes in France.

The wireless telecoms industry is fast growing with a market valued at over €300 billion in 2003 and projected to grow to over €500 billion by 2010. This growth will be driven by a huge increase in data services and the emergence of developing markets.

'3GSM provides an exceptionally high profile opportunity for Irish companies to met with key buyers and operators to promote their capabilities, products and services,' commented the Minister for Trade and Commerce, Michael Ahern, who is leading the Irish delegation to Cannes.

The Irish delegation at Cannes will showcase companies with products in key areas such as billing, rating and mediation, interface management, telecoms middleware, messaging, mobile commerce, CRM, voice over wireless IP and mobile music.
