New owner for UGC Dublin cinema

Cineworld, which is owned by private equity firm, Blackstone, has bought 42 cinemas in the UK and Ireland formerly owned by French group UGC. The group's Irish cinema is in Parnell Street in Dublin.

No price tag was put on the deal but media reports estimated it to be worth around £200m.

UGC entered the UK market in 1999 through the acquisition of Virgin Cinemas in a deal worth €305m.
