Mobile operator O2 Ireland has said its customer numbers were up 4,000 in its first quarter to the end of June to just under 1.4 million.
The company the number of contract customers grew by 7,000 in the quarter, mainly because of gains in the business market.
O2 Ireland's average revenue per user (ARPU) in Ireland was €556, down slightly on the previous quarter, but still well above the figures for the parent company mmO2's British and German operations.
MmO2 added 603,000 customers in the quarter, ahead of analysts' forecasts, while overall ARPU moved up £7 to £279.
