Mobile phone maker Sony Ericsson has reported higher than expected second-quarter profits.
Pre-tax profit at the Japanese-Swedish company in the period May to June was €113m, after a loss of €102m a year ago.
The world's fifth-biggest mobile maker said the increase was thanks to strong demand for camera phones. As a result the firm revised up its global handset sales forecast.
Sales of phones were up to €1.5 billion, from €1.1 billion year earlier, up 34%.
Miles Flint, president of Sony Ericsson said: "These results reflect continued strong demand for our style-oriented line-up of imaging and multi-media phones. The company has established a solid basis for sustained growth going forward."
He also said the firm had maintained momentum in an increasingly competitive market environment.
