Apple Computer's quarterly net income, fuelled by surging sales of its market-leading iPod digital music players, more than tripled.
For the quarter to June 26 Apple said it had net income of $61m, up from $19m in the same period a year ago. Revenue rose by 30% to $2.01 billion from $1.55 billion. Its profit was $67m.
Apple said it expected to post fourth-quarter revenues of $2.1 billion including one cent per share in restructuring charges.
