Irish exports to non-EU countries were worth €2,924m in April, down from €2,970m in March, according to seasonally adjusted figures from the Central Statistics Office. Imports rose from €1,398m to €1,790m.
For the first four months of the year, exports to countries outside the EU were up 1% compared with the same period last year, despite a 23% drop in computer exports. US exports were up 2% in the January-April period.
Imports were 4% higher for the first four months of 2004, with a big jump in aviation imports to €558m. Imports from China were 36% higher.
