Communications and IT company Calyx has bought two companies for €1m.
Calyx has acquired IT network installation and repair company Vipertec, which is based in Carlow. Its previous owner Patrick Ramsay will join Calyx as a consultant.
The company has also bought Mallow-based BevCom, which was previously a distributor for Calyx.
Calyx is made up of five companies led by former ITG boss Maurice Healy, who bought out the company from ITG in 2002. It has a turnover of nearly €60m and employs more than 200 people in Dublin, Cork and Limerick.
Chief executive Maurice Healy says he intends to continue acquiring companies in Ireland and the UK and is in talks with a number of companies.
