German technology company Siemens is to set up a new research facility at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in Dublin.
The move is being backed to the tune of €700,000 by Science Foundation Ireland, which invests in research on behalf of the Government.
Siemens will contribute matching costs, and will transfer some of its research scientists to Ireland, where they will collaborate with the RCSI in the fields of biotechnology, bioinformatics and pharmaceuticals.
